This review is long overdue!  I don't know how I haven't left a review yet... maybe because I always eat my burrito so fast I never get pics. I came here the other day for lunch downtown (like I said... clearly on a burrito kick). This is my favorite most traditional burrito with refrained beans and rice.

Service/Environment- very fast!  That's much appreciated when you're in the rush to get food during work!

Food- I can always rely on this place for a good burrito. I go here a couple times a month especially when I'm craving burritos. I ALWAYS get the supreme burrito with carnitas. I also ask for extra of their hot sauce to go.  I like to poor it on my burrito for each bite so it doesn't make it watery hehe.

Worth the $$$- yes!  Less than $10 for a LARGE and YUMMY burrito I am sold (clearly)!

Instagram worthy- like I said before... burritos are messy beasts but I still take pics! Pics or it didn't happen, right?!!

Added to my go to list?- OF COURSE!  If you haven't noticed... when I'm really feeling something or not feeling something I like to emphasize my words with ALL CAPS! In this case it's a very good sign!!! I am never disappointed with my go to supreme burrito with carnitas.

Highly recommend for you downtown peeps!!! But be sure to bring your appetite... these are pretty hefty in size!  This place and Bonsai Burrito are my favorite (when I'm trying to be healthier I go to bonsai and get a juice to match) but when I'm just feeling Mexican this is the place.

This hit the spot! Quick stop here for lunch between running errands. This is a hole in the wall in Fort Street Mall. I found them on Yelp. I'm glad I did, it's was tasty. I got there too late. The Al Pastor was sold out. Next time for sure

I would have preferred more cilantro but they mix their cilantro with the onions. So instead of more cilantro I ended up with more onions. It was still good but if you're still working, I wouldn't get extra.

Overall it was very good and their horchata was delicious too. I love it when Mexican places have horchata. If it was Friday I might have to have Henchata!! LOL. Hennessy+Horchata=Henchata

I have to return to try their Al Pastor taco and their burritos.

The state of Mexican food in Honolulu is....painful, particularly for a Texas kid spoiled by some of the best in the country.   What I love about Mexican food is that there is almost no correlation, at least locally, with restaurant format and quality.  In other words, hole-in-the wall restaurants can and often do top the list.  Lucky for us.

La Mision is exactly that...very good, simple (nobly so) and humbly situated in Fort Street Mall a block or so makai of Beretania.  Inside seating, outside seating (shared and colorful - on the mall is....interesting).  This is a walk-up, order at the counter kind of place.   The door is propped open welcoming you in.  Service was friendly and local-casual, my favorite.   And most of what you'll be eating is simmering in pans right in front of you....and it looks great.

Taqueria means an easy menu of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and the like.   The most difficult part of the experience here is choosing the meat for your meal.   Al pastor; pork chile verde; simmered chicken; traditional ground beef; shredded beef; i really wanted it all.  Graciously the staff allowed me to taste several (all very good).

Correct, you don't want to be in line behind me.  Sorry/not sorry.

I committed to their taco bowl with the pork chile verde, piled with lettuce, guacamole, jalapeño salsa, and a touch of sour cream.  This was - bar. none - the best taco salad I've had in recent memory, if not ever.  The pork shines tender, rich, and tasty.  The salsa was great.  The guacamole was great.  The onion/cilantro garnish was great.   Yeah you get it...I am ruined for this dish most anywhere else.

Well done La Mision!  I'm so looking forward to delving further into the menu and chipping away at the notion that there isn't good Mexican here. The light at the end of this tunnel isn't the train....

Legit, best burrito in Honolulu. Fresh, tasty -- just like SoCal.
Fair price, quick & friendly service.

My BF has been raving about this place. Just finished eating my two street tacos garnished with onions & cilantro - stewed chicken (fricken yummo) and chile verde (pork simmered in tomatillo sauce). You can get the "plate" version which includes rice and beans. Located on Fort Street Mall, it houses six four-top tables. Of all the places on Oahu, this is the place to get delicious Mexican fare with affordable prices!!!  I'm coming back!!!
